Be it a fine hotel or your master bedroom that takes pride in its sheets of Egyptian cotton, all settings look forward to offering the right comfort metrics with soft fabrics in place. Prized for their durability and softness quotients, Egyptian cotton sheet sets are known for their high-thread count and are the right way to go.
But
then, in spite of being purchased from the best Egyptian linens
outlet, these sheets tend to be a tad coarse and hard when taken out
of their new packets. Regular wash and the use of high-quality
softeners make them all the more comfortable and softer over time. Do
you know that the presence of chemicals in these Egyptian cottonsheets make them rough textured in the beginning? Constant and
regular washing goes a long way in draining out these chemicals and
making the sheets soft to touch.
Baking
Soda Softener
You
have been using the recommended detergent while washing your Egyptian
cotton sheets in the machine – right? If you are not happy with the
softness and comfort levels imparted by the same, try using baking
soda for the purpose. Instead of adding laundry detergent in a normal
wash cycle, wash your sheets in the machine with baking soda. Soda is
very helpful in removing manufacturing chemicals ingrained in the
cotton sheets, and makes the fabric softer than before. All you
require for the cause is a tablespoon full of baking soda, which has
to be followed with a cup of white vinegar that’s to be added
during the rinsing cycle. Though warm water is more suitable for
washing purposes, it is a good idea to set the setting to “cold
water” when you begin the rinse process. Once you have line-dried
the sheets after rinsing them thoroughly with baking soda, clean them
with detergent, and dry them as usual.
Laundering
Out the Chemicals
In
case you are finding it too cumbersome to soften your sheets of
Egyptian cotton with baking soda, then you may try using half the
total quantity of detergent that you use on a regular basis, cold
water, and a setting on “delicate or gentle” to avoid any
shrinkage. You may like to use an extra-rinse cycle for removing
excess detergent. Once washed, these sheets can be placed on a
low-heat cycle on a dryer, and removed when slightly wet. You may
line dry them for best results, if so desired. If you are using
Queen-sized sheets of Egyptian cotton, or the ones that are larger in
size, you may like to wash them in the form of two separate loads for
allowing adequate space for proper cleaning.
Clamping
Down on Creases
If
you have been using new Egyptian-cotton sheets lately, it’s quite
likely that you have observed their affinity towards wrinkles and
creases. Well, it is quite easy to keep these creases at bay by
removing the sheets from the washing machine as soon as they are
done. The other method of getting rid of the same is shaking out the
sheets firmly, before pushing them into the dryer. It is a good idea
to remove the sheets from the dryer when they are not completely dry,
and spread them on a line to air-dry. Also, folding and ironing the
sheets on low heat goes a long way in removing the creases. Once your
sheets of Egyptian cotton have been washed and dried as mentioned
above (for a few times ) you can be assured of giving a soft appeal
to them. The creases will reduce too!
Lengthening
the Life Spans of Cotton Sheets
Egyptian-cotton
sheets have a tendency of lasting for a longer time than their other
cousins, possibly because of the kind of fiber used for their making.
As you have decided upon investing in these sheets, then you must
ensure that they remain soft and durable for years in a row. If you
have been using bleach for making them look whiter than before, then
it is a good idea to avoid the same totally. Remember, chemical based
whiteners and softeners tend to cause great harm to the fabrics of
these sheets and are not at all recommended for Egyptian cotton. To
avoid any degradation over time, it is best advised to use gentle and
good quality detergents only. Also, do remember to use moderate dryer
and water temperatures to avoid any unwanted shrinkage of the fabric.
Egyptian
Cotton Sheets and their Maintenance
Today,
bedding and linen made of high-quality Egyptian cotton are making it
to the top of coveted buys for commercial accommodation owners and
residential buyers alike. Boasting of high thread count, these sheets
always succeed in imparting the right levels of luxury and comfort.
Under the circumstances, they require good care and maintenance for
giving you, your investment’s worth. So, if you wish to keep your
cotton sheet sets looking beautiful, soft, and as good as new, you
need to invest in a dryer and washer, proper materials for removing
stains, and a good laundry detergent too!
Stocking
up on Cleaning Supplies
First and foremost,
you need to remove all the detergents that contain any traces of
bleach, in any form. Bleach can cause irreversible damages to your
white cotton sheets and make them look worn and discolored after a
few washes. So, invest in laundry detergents that are formulated for
brightening your whites, without using bleach. You may like to
purchase your laundry detergents from reputed specialty stores for
assuring good quality at all times.
With
the right measures in place, you may look forward to getting the best
returns from your soft and luxuriant sheets, at all times!

Beautiful sheets that feel as good as they look! Like pretty excellent sheets so far! Great price...comfy, too. And also share some my experience this website product wrap around bed skirt Very Nice Product I was very pleased with this bed skirt. The fabric is nice and soft the stitching is excellent. No lifting or pushing. This was the best and easiest bed skirt I've ever purchased! Fit is plenty tight and secure. I purchased this because I didn't like having to "fight" the slip and slide of a bed-skirt that covered the mattress. Would I recommend? ABSOLUTELY!
